What Nortthline collects, why, and what we never do with it.

Who we are

Nortthline is an after-hours call answering service for home-services contractors, operating from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

What we collect

From our customers — the business owner: business name, trade, service area, contact email, and the mobile number where alerts should be sent.

From people who ring one of our customers: the name and callback number they give, the town they are in, a description of the problem, and a recording and transcript of the call. Callers are told at the start of every call that it is recorded and that they are speaking to an automated assistant.

Why we collect it

So the contractor can call the person back. That is the entire purpose. Call details are passed to the business the caller rang, and to nobody else.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use caller details for marketing, ours or anyone else’s. We do not share one customer’s calls with another customer. We do not buy or scrape phone numbers.

Who else touches the data

We use third-party providers to carry calls and messages and to run the voice assistant. They process this information on our behalf in order to deliver the service, under their own terms, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Call records and transcripts are kept while they are useful to the business for following up work, and deleted after that. A customer can ask us to delete their account’s records at any time and we will.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing the address below. Owners receiving alerts can stop them at any time by replying STOP.
